Bookshelf: Profit From The Core
I'm just going to put this out here right away: I read a lot.
Whether it's fiction, non-fiction, scifi, fantasy, business, etc, I always have something on the iPad I'm working through.
There are, however, some books that are an annual re-read. One of those is Profit From The Core.
This series and author was recommended to me by a coworker, and I can't say enough about it.
The author, Chris Zook, does a masterful job of weaving real-world examples of how understanding your core business is the key to profitability and continual growth. He also sets the stage for the question on everyone's mind of how to grow beyond the core business into other profitable adjacent areas without losing focus. This book really framed for me the essential keys of product management, and it continually helps me as I look to make strategic decisions. This is the first in a three book series, and I can promise you that you'll want to grab the rest.
I would definitely recommend reading more about this book and his others on his website.
Right now, I would say Amazon is the best place to buy this book, and his others. The price on iBooks is a little too salty at the moment.
